in Mole Causes

Aside from excessive exposure to the sun and atypical mole syndrome, another plausible cause of moles is hormonal changes.

It is quite common for the number of moles on your body to be affected by your body’s hormone level. It is quite common for the number mole lesions in your body to increase when the body is going through a natural hormonal alteration.

Some of the quite common natural hormonal changes of the body include adolescence, menopause and pregnancy.
Women are more prone to moles caused by hormonal changes, than men. This is because a woman goes through various stages in life wherein the hormones of her body are constantly changes. These changes trigger the formation of moles.

Women who take birth control pills are also likely to develop moles since these pills are known to cause hormonal changes.

Men and women entering the puberty stage also undergo multiple hormonal alterations within the body. During puberty, their body is flooded with hormones, which can at times be drastic and difficult for the body to cope with, thereby aiding the formation of moles.

When a woman enters the menopause stage of her life, the body reverts itself towards a state of infertility. The previously flooded female hormones now begin retracting, further creating a hormonal imbalance in the body which can again lead to the appearance of moles.
